Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar Died!

Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar died Today in California at 92. Pandit Ravi Shankar who is the Rythm of  Traditional Sitar Playing. He is the Noble Musician of International Concerts and Labled as God Father of Sitar Play for Many Live Concerts with George Harrison. He gave Indian Traditional and Classical Music touch to International Jazz and Rock Music with his Sitar. Indian Government Respect fully honored with Padma Bhooshan, Padma Vibhooshan and Indian Pride Award of Bharatha Ratna Award in 1999.

Pandit Ravi Shankar gave many Live Concerts through out the Globe and Spread Indian Classical Music with his Sitar. World wide he had large number of Fans. Pandit Ravi Shankar won two times Grammy Awards and Nominated with his Music for the year 2013 Grammy Awards.

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed his death and called him a 'National Treasure'. All of his family is Sitar Players and Music Treasure of the Sitar World. When Jones shot to stardom and won five Grammy awards in 2003, Anoushka Shankar was nominated for a Grammy of her own.

Shankar, himself, has won three Grammy awards and was nominated for an Oscar for his musical score for the movie "Gandhi." Despite his fame, numerous albums and decades of world tours, Shankar's music remained a riddle to many Western ears.
